Hi from a thinker; me.

Did you ever think about what makes you most happy? Did you notice that what makes you happy can change, depending on the time of day, or your mood?
That's what I'm thinking about today.
Leave a comment and tell me what you are thinking about.
Who knows, we might start a discussion, what I call stage two of tapping into the universal mind.
Peace.

He's coming soon!

I'm talking about Father Christmas/Santa/St Nicholas/The Big Guy in Red!
Christmas is a time when the average guy lets his guard down a little. He thinks about family, friends and good chair. Hey, that's not a spelling mistake, I meant to say chair because December is a time when a thinking guy takes time to think...
Where am I going? What's this thing we call 'Universe'? Are there a lot of gay cats? How much money exists in the world? Do dolphins have a language that lets them express love? Can everything on this planet be counted? Are women like gay men with breasts and no tackle?
There are so many questions for us thinkers to answer over the festive season. Rest assured that I will be onto it for you this Christmas. I'm expecting to make quite a spurt!

Just to say hi, I'm still alive.

Sorry I've been so slack about posting lately. I've been on a voyage of thinking. I've been thinking some deep thoughts. I'll try to explain at a later date.

I've been thinking quite a lot lately.

I've read some good parables here. Now you have to understand that I don't buy into organised religion, or Christianity as such, but some of Angry Jesus' parable have a weird kind of truth to them. Crows seem to be a constant in his writing. I think that he uses them as a metaphor for the view of the masses, the public at large, the great unwashed - the group described by many names. Albanians use the words "shumë njerëz", which has a nice ring to my ears.
The parable of the talents demonstrates, I think, that a servant (read 'son' here) who has let his master (read 'father') down by not investing his money still instinctively tries to protect him from the shumë njerëz.
I guess that message touches me somewhere down low.

It's a windy morning in central Auckland and I'm up thinking. Does this wind blow right around the universe? I've just been reading some old posts on Richard's Bass Bag. He seems fixated with the concept of a finite universe... a very interesting concept.
It is hard for us mere specks to imagine infinity and maybe, if something is so big, it doesn't need to be infinite. Still, it makes room for the question,
what is at the edge of the universe?
Something different? Nothing?
Hey, define nothing. Now there's a hard one (please, no puns on my name Curmudgeon).
Could it be that Second's heaven exists out there, where the universe has run out of planets, rocks and stars?
I think I will think about this until lunchtime and then take a nap.

Why 'My Spurt'?

I'm fascinated by the universe and want to explore its concepts, boundaries its inhabitants and their philosophies.
Obviously it is a big place, with great distances to be covered by any explorer. I have this image of my mind 'spurting' across vast expanses like a distance runner who is sprinting towards the finish line after covering considerable distances.
Please pop into my blog and share in this great adventure that I have in mind for myself, and anyone who would like to come along for the ride.
